One can pick them up online depending on exactly what type they are looking for from $30 to $3or4k

TL;DR hole size controls how fast balls get spent

I see shield players every weekend. They usually have a notch cut out where they can rest their gun, and I don't think they limit shields to pistols only either. It's a little frustrating to play against shields, especially when shield hits don't count. All a player has to do is smack the shield against a window and fire through the small cut out.

If they're using unlimited paint and uncapped semi with "primary guns", that's not a shield, that's a tank... And they are total scrotums if they're using them with renters. Scared little scrotums.

Shields should add flavour to the mix, not become walking terminators.

If they're using them with an uncapped semi, I think it's appropriate to allow drop-kicks as a method of interaction with the shield.

Jokes aside, they have no place on the field outside of very specific scenario play, and even then need to be strictly controlled and watched carefully by refs.

I hate shields. In most paintball situations if you're holding equipment and it gets shot you're out, period.

I can see where in scenario events/etc they could be fun, but I friggin' hate 'em.

while polycarb is used in ballistic stopping applications - I am not sure I would trust only 3mm to the task so no it prolly won't - Luckily we aren't facing .22shorts on the paintball field ...
