Schrager Brothers Factor X2, the Amalgamation Blowback You Never Knew

I recently acquired this piece of garbage history. A Schrager Brothers Factor X2! Whatís is that, you ask? I donít !@#$ing know. All Iíve found on Google is an old PB Review (RIP) link to the worlds smallest thumbnail, ďGlasgow_Mega-SnakeĒ on Reddit saying something about them being made in CT and a guy named OSR on ďInkphyĒ sharing an image saying they were made by an aerospace company.

What makes this unique is that itís like some mad scientist (do they even have those in CT?) took a Model 98 and stitched on Spyder parts to make the ultimate low-end paint slinger. Every shot is guaranteed to shoot your opponent in the neck.

As you can see, the body is the stick thin with the widest trigger in paintball history. The frame is actually fairly comfortable with a smooth pull, but also plastic and cracking a bit around the rear frame screw. I think this may accept Spyder frames, but I havenít tried yet. The body also comes equipped a Spyder style feedneck and barrel threads, dual-detents and a rubber foregrip angled ever so slightly backwards.

Now, the internals are really the bees knees. One of the parts that you canít see is even green! I mean thatís straight out of Shocktechís playbook right there. This is also where you start getting into the Model 98 side of things. The main differences between this and a 98 appear to be that the rod connects through the valve body, the valve body is made entirely of metal and velocity is adjusted in the back rather than through a choke towards the front.

Now you might be wondering how well this beast from the east shoots. Well, I donít know. As it stands now, I canít get the internals back in. The valve body is getting stuck to the point where I would have to hammer it back in place. In fact, I had to use a Spyder as a hammer in order to get them out in the first place. Another negative is that the bottom of the frame is concave. Mating up a bottomline will be more troublesome than it needed to be.

All that being said, it still feels like it will be a real solid shooter. With vertical feed and dual ball detents it even has some modern touches. I look forward to eventually taking it onto the field and confusing everyone.

I keep thinking there was a marker called a Shadow (or something like that) that strongly resembled this gun. Obviously it also has some similarities with the early Mokals.

Between my buddy and I we own 10....

It's very well designed just very unknown out side of Matt's outback. Pretty much a cottage gun.

The green Anno implies teflon impregnated Anno fyi

I believe the Shadow was the Spyder clone they made, based off what the reddit guy said.

The one decent image I found has Matts Outback laser engraving.

Okay, I'm glad my brain is at least semi-functional. I think it had a mottled brown anno? Or dark blue?

Matt's had a rental fleet of these.

The shadow came in blue and green, the shadow deluxe was mottled brown
