There are only a few ano companies that actually do true fades anymore. I have one pink lady fade with another on the way from Caustic, but most companies don't really do long, drawn out fades. Become a bit of a lost art.

New players will never experience...

Being on Spec Ops paintball and reading all the tactics pages and wanting their super cool A5 with mp5 stock. The best was the game finder and earning their "spec ops" points for playing games.

This is true. Course, looking at half of the fades from back in the day, there were some lousy ones too.

I do miss them, though.

Not sure if it's been said yet, didn't read through all 150 posts but

Co2 in general (I saw some comments about certain aspects of co2 but these days new players may never even use it)

The joy of customizing something and it working (not just, I added a barrel)

Mask fans

2 hour long games

Rental pumps (I could see this coming back though, but it would be as a "upgrade")

it requires a part to be removed from the dye at a very consistent rate (and no sloshing), like you'd need to rig up to a motor so you can get the pull rate correct, which was probably a bigger pain in the *** than most anodizers wanted to deal with

i think that was "one" of the things that killed it, the second was that it fell out of popularity and people stopped buying them..

my favorite fades were the ones belsales did for eclipse back in the day. envy and nitro being the 2 that i still get a little swoony over

Trading shots with kids in survival game goggles and football helmets.

Saving your lunch money to split a case of Zap with your best friend for $60 a piece.

Spending an hour trying to change the lens of your x-fire to yellow because “you can see so much better in the woods”

The writhing paralysis of a 300fps neck shot from 15 feet with proball platinum.

The unbridled firepower of swapping your pgp for a brass eagle stingray

And I quote from a friend the first time I ever played paintball

"Don't ever play speedball with semi-autos!"

When I got into paintball pretty much all the guns were black or green with the most common “custom” being camo.

Frankly I think all that hyper loud custom chopper stuff from the 90s looks like absolute ***, clown *** even, but I do wish there were more of the solid colors like you’d see on a Rebline or Sterling or even Phantoms. I haven’t seen 80s style camo ano in ages, like you used to be able to get on a Spartan or VM68.

And custom anno tanks...

Remember that pink VM68/PMI3/whatever it was on the cover of Action Pursuit in like...1991 I want to say? I’d love to have a gun like that. I’d love a gold Phantom too.

Paying for a "Gold Up" on pbnation so that your super agg mega marker blow out sale didn't drop into the abyss 5 minutes after posting it.

i hated the fact that you couldn't use "gold ups" unless you were a paid member of the site, i still have the 4 they gave me (i dont like it when sites hold features hostage for money)
