Anyone Missing a Dukie DSG?

Hey,

Im in Southern Central Ontario, and a dukie DSG has just come up for sale online. Ive messaged the seller, and they seem only to know that its called a 'dukie shotgun,' and that they want to sell it fast. They do not seem aware that these things are friggin unicorns.

I wasnt sure where to put this post, so i dropped it in the deadzone.

It may not be stolen, but there are some red flags that went up for me so i thought i would put out an apb.

If this resonates with anyone, hmu.

Tom

Do you have any pictures? Might help current owners.

That post doesn't strike me as especially suspicious, for what it's worth

Agreed. I assumed it was worse when looking at it.

Hopefully people are just being overly cautious for others.

I feel the same. He has a pretty good description and the price is right for what it has. Could be the parent of a player looking to unload their kids old gear, but it seems like there is too much info even for that scenario

Good lookin' out either way.

I didn't find the OP to be accusatory, just taking caution... Always much appreciated.

Hey all, thank you for the input.

I agree that this doesnt seem overly suspicious, but my thinking is that a DSG is rare enough that if one was stolen, someone would be able to come forward with some pretty solid proof this is theirs.

I have a DRV, and i have detailed pics of the serial #, and and every other defining characteristic that came out in the milling and anodizing process.

If i saw a post like this for a 2015 etek or something, i wouldnt have thought twice about it. Its just that its a DRG and there was a minor tinge of doubt in my mind.

Also, after i sent a message to the seller, his response basically made it sound like he didnt know, or care what he had in front of him and that he was more interested in knocking some money off his price to sell it fast - truthfully, that interaction is what made me wonder if this was legit.

Again, not anything to call the police about, but enough to make me think that there may be some value in posting an alert on here.
