And it works to a certain degree. It certainly gets me stoked to play! I'm going in cold tomorrow(literally, at the temps in MI)buying my paint when I get there, but I'll still eyeball them as I load.

I do something similar to agentSmith...

I store my paintballs in a ten round tube, nine per tube to avoid compression. When I load each tube, I look for out-of-round balls and discard them.

Fifteen tubes of paint are then put into small plastic containers that are then stored inside a larger plastic container that includes silica dessicant moisture absorbers. I rotate my paint every couple of weeks. My paint stays fresh for some time using this storage method but it does make my wife believe I am nuts.
