So for those that have the DSG1 is there an upgrade option available for us to get the higher efficiency?

Just get an SS25 valve from ccm and a washer from the hardware store. The washer is to adapt the smaller cup seal stem to the standard springs. The standard silver springs seem to get the highest efficiency as far as Moosepatrols testing showed. He tried a whole bunch of combinations and that was the best result.

The valve is the same size as the DSG1 standard valve and should push right in. The only other change you might have to make, if you haven't already, is the flats on the hammer.

IIRC Trilogy Autocockers have the same valve practically as the SS25, and Palmers makes a Trilogy Cocker valve.

Yep, went to their site. Low Turbulence Valve Assembly - Trilogy [PPSP029] - $37.00 : Palmers Pursuit Shop!, Where Custom Still Means Something

I remember a long time ago when I bought the SS25 when it first came out I put one of these in there. I think I had to only modify the bottom of the valve because it was solid with an indent for the valve retaining nut. The SS25 retaining nut didn't quite fit into the one on the Trilogy valve, slight dremel work and it fit fine.

The reason I did this was because the SS25 valve was produced with a delrin valve stem assembly. It did not seal with the back of the valve, it allowed blowback gas to push the hammer back partially and create hammer bounce (aka "farting"). I did this modification because the Palmer's cup valve stem was metal and machined perfectly for the valve, allowed absolutely no blowback gas and completely fixed the hammer bounce issue.

*edit*
Okay, just ordered one. I'll let you know my results when I get it in.

From the looks of it you may have trouble fitting that in. You might need to cut a notch on the the hammer side along the top to accomodate the valve retaining pin. The SS25 valve has a raised boss around the valve stem that takes care of this.

I don't recall the sample one I got having a delrin valve stem, I think it was stainless. Memory failing, getting old. It had a replaceable oring cupseal face though.

I bought mine when it first came out, I think it was actually a solid 1 piece item? Honestly I can't remember anymore what 1 part was back 4 years ago. I think the valve cup seal and stem was a solid piece of black delrin, or some other material. They most likely upgraded it before finishing the production run I bet.

I'll let you know if it fits with or without modifications necessary.

Gun porn!!

All the parts are bead blasted and ready except the bodies which just need the final wash and wipe down. All the aluminum goes to the anodizer tommorrow.

BARRELS: I have 1 barrel set, plus I have the one used for the prototype ( in good shape, it was just used in the shop for themost part). This looks like all I am going to get. So any of you that orderered barrels you can have one of those. Otherwise I will have to refund the money for the barrels. I looked around but have not found an equivalent barrel at an equivalent price.

Let me know here or by PM please.

EDIT: beadblasted bodies look sweeeeeeet with varsol overtop of the bead blast. Too bad they couldn't just get a thick coating of laquer.

new one is gone.

That leaves the prototypes barrel. Its not a prototype barrel, its just the one I bought to check it out before committing to a barrel. Same as all the rest that were bought. I don't really care if it goes or not, I was just throwing that out there.

Really sorry about this guys. All new DSG's DO NOT come with smart parts barrels now
