I am in final negotiations to get this for $500. It may happen tomorrow. Please stop me if you think it is a mistake!
Beautiful late 80's Celeste Bianchi
I like this bike because it was iconic and unobtanium when I was young. Looking and feeling "cool" will get me to ride it more often. I couldn't really stand any of the Raleigh designs even though they were widely recommended. Hopefully it is fully depreciated, and I can move it if my interest evaporates.
Any recommendations for how to kick the tires?

I dunno, there are a few similar models listed on the Chicago craigslist for 300-400, but they definitely don't look as clean.

I don't think it's a bad deal, but not something you could easily turn around and sell. If all the mechanicals check out it would be a nice rider.

i wish i knew enough about retro bikes to give you good idvice, i just dont

the ones that i know carry a value are, Colnago, Bianchi and Peugeot.

everyone wants them, so they can't be that bad, right?

as far as a test ride,, if it feels comfortable i guess? if you dont feel squished or too stretched out. at 6 feet tall on a 60, you might be on the "too short" side, if the only way you can be on the hoods or the drops is to lock your elbows, or bent over so far its uncomfortable, you might wanna look for another smaller size

other than that, i dont know enough about retro bikes to be terribly helpful

^And i did it while wearing a helmetcam^ in 1080P HD if you need proof

Thanks guys. Apparently, it was just serviced, and you can see the tag in the photos. Most of the bikes I have been looking at would require a tune and maybe a part or two. If it needs something, I will try to get it lower than 500. If I buy it for 500 and can get 350+ on resale, I will be really happy. Hopefully I won't want to resell it!
The size worries me, but I will know more tomorrow. I am hesitant to test ride it too much. Last time I did that in 2001, I wrecked the bike and felt compelled to buy it! I was trying to experiment with hopping the front tire on a nice mountain bike.
