So... what about the plastics and rubbers electric vehicles use? Or the transmission fluid in the transmissions that are a service item, regardless of what the author of that article thinks? Or the battery that lasts 600,000 miles, anecdotally? Brake pads/rotors/calipers/fluids? Air conditioning components? Electrical components?
Like all electrical devices that use a rechargeable battery, battery life is dependent on useage. Is it being topped up constantly, or discharged and then recharged? What kind of temperature is it being used in?
We're not going to be converting to electric in 5 years. If people abuse their electric cars as badly as they abuse their internal combustion powered vehicles, possibly never...
