Rick and Morty Official Discussion Thread

First episode of season 4 aired last night, anyone else watch it? I thought it was really solid. My favorite episodes of the show are the ones that delve into the absurd possibilities concerning the multiverse theory, which this certainly did. Adding on top of that, the existential questions arising from the death crystal was pretty fun too, especially the way it's wrapped up at the post credits scene.

What did you think of it?

That ending was great, and it was a good episode, but something just felt a little off. Not really sure how to explain it to be honest.

this is a show I'm certain I would enjoy, but I haven't watched, at all.

The clips I have seen though, Rick seems like a despicable human being that is borderline abusive of Morty.

That's how i could describe most of season 3. They lost what they had going for them.

Yeah you probably would like it.

And yes, that's literally the point. The people who worship Rick miss the entire point of the show.

i liked it.. some parts were really funny

some parts were just un-necessary the giant rick part was starting to get into the garbage pail kids level on unnecessary gross..
i don't mind gross, but extra gross for the sake of just being gross isn't required.. i also understand what they were going for stylistically (anime tends to be extra graphic and akira was definitely that), but i feel like they could have used the extra few minutes of film elsewhere in the story..

all in all it was a perfectly confusing rick and morty episode that pokes fun at the modern state of affairs, and leaves you wondering what the hell just happened

i'd give it about a 6.5

I felt S1/S2 were excellent because they were just kind of doing whatever TF they wanted. The show has become self aware from S3-on so it just feels a bit coerced to me.

Well, "The Old Man in the Seat" (episode 2) was..... kinda meh. It's far from the worst Rick and Morty episode (the Vindicators one takes that crown) but it's really just kinda middling for me.
