Not certain I've ever used the phrase, but I certainly know it. Were all the people you were with 17 years old?

Heard it all the time growing up. You are not normal by any means - but I have heard this saying.

Yeah, I've used it quite a bit in my own vocabulary as well, along with "stomping grounds" used in the same veign (sp?).

a co-worker received an e-mail from our boss that had, "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" expression.

he had no idea what it meant so i had to explain it to him.

Maybe you had a booger hangin out your nose or something, that's why they were looking at you weird.

That just means you are old .
My youngest son gave me a T shirt for fathers day.
Front and back it says "old guys rule" ....... ?
Well I suppose I should be happy it doesnt say old guys drool.

Today I mentioned that in a business deal gone bad I "took a bath on that one". The two other people in the room looked at me like I was crazy. I'm pretty sure that's not an uncommon expression for "getting taken to the cleaners" or "Losing your shirt"

I've heard it. Forgot about it though. It's been a few decades.

When you "mature" your short term memory tends to go before your long term memory. Don't worry about it. It will happen to all of us.
