kawaiicore - Japanese cute metal

This showed up in my news feed today. Apparently I have eclectic tastes... in every thing. This article supplied my new thing to learn today.

Meet LadyBeard

Its an article about a death metal artist who goes by the name of LadyBeard. LadyBeard has been in such groups as LadyBaby and Deadlift Lolita. Apparently this guy is a star in the Japanese death metal culture. Good thing... he did not seem to have a plan B to fall back upon.

Enjoy! (Or not.)

As entertaining as LadyBeard is, I'm more of a Babymetal fan myself. Same concept, but taking it more seriously.

Yeah they're in the US on a stadium tour right now. I'm seeing them in about 2 weeks.

I own a lot of Japanese music of all kinds and a decent amount of metal so I’m open minded to this kind of thing but...no. Metal bands do not have three identical singers chirping like that. The front men don’t put the band behind curtains. Metal guitarists want to be both seen and heard. Metal bassists...do they even have a bass player or just a synth? This is something but it’s not very metal. Factory crap sang over a Helloween karaoke CD maybe?

This closest actual metal to this would probably be Ghost, since that “band” (one guy) “tours” by just hiring new musicians on every leg and then makes them sign NDAs so people think it’s the next King Diamond or something.
