GI Sportz now suing Virtue

Another lawsuit from GI Sportz, this time it is against Virtue.

Somewhat copying Shadawg's format from the last lawsuit.

Docket Listing:
Case 1:17-cv-01583-UNA Document 1 Filed 11/03/17 Page 1 of 60 PageID #: 1

Full Brief:
Here is a link to the filing.

GI vs Virtue

GI /KEE is suing Virtue in Federal court for patent infringement.
This lawsuit appears to be over agitated loaders and masks. This could set a pretty interesting precedent and they could basically go after several of the other loader and mask manufacturers. I will just say that lawsuits and paintball aren't a good mix, and generally isn't great for anyone on our end.

Who is granting these patents? Sensor, agitator, extended run... Isn't that how all battery hoppers work?

I just keep shaking my head. Might be time for the grass roots paintball revolution.

players and fields need to boycott anything GI for about 6 months and let them know we are tired of them trying to put all the other paintball companies out of business.

I've been saying this for a while now. GI Sportz is taking up the flag that Smart Parts left when they went bankrupt and their patents sold off, so even though theyre now GoG and DLX, they don't have the patents anymore to sue everyone like they used to. But now GI Sportz is taking up the torch and continuing the asinine patent abuse. THIS is why I do not buy GI products.

I just hope GI stops doing this crap, not only will it start hurting all of these cool companies but if GI continues this path they may start hurting the other brands under their umbrella like Tippmann and Empire.

The "G" in GI stands for Gardner. That's more than enough to explain what's going on here. That's sad and also squarely puts anything GI related on my black list. Which is about everything. So thankfully there are independent gun makers that make better quality guns anyhow, and I play at fields that don't carry their paint.

Ditto to everything said here. But also, doesnt Planet Eclipse fall under their umbrella too? If so, then its going to be a tough decision if i can keep my SL8R or not.

As I understand it, yes, when GI was formed, the G was for Gardner. However, i think they are no longer involved. Bought out/sold out.

No fan of GI or SP.
