when the old push rods for the 12 grams were used in the k1 and 2s some times it would catch or bind..the trick was not to slap it down the tube but to push gently, guy next to me slapped the rod...

yup absolutely, I use isopropanol with the same method...that sounds like oil so that should cut right through it. I was once given a marker that someone had used gun oil to lube....was not great,!
