Fishing Guide Services NEPA

Hello fellow MCBers,

I have recently started a fishing guide business in North East PA guiding on the North Branch of the Susquehanna River. I have a custom built jet boat with a 115/80 hp outboard jet engine, 112 lbs thrust Minnkota Fortrex, and a 12ft Talon. I have been going to EMR since 1999 and have been a member on the forum for some time. The Susquehanna is one of the top smallmouth bass fishing destinations in the country and I have had some incredible days on the river. I typically launch near Falls, PA which is about 40 minutes from EMR, so if you are in the area and looking for something else to do after a paintball game let me know. I fish the stretch of the river from Tunkhannock to West Pittston. If you are interested please send me a PM. I am a licensed guide in the state of Pennsylvania, Charter Boat #961.

Prices for up to 2 People:
8 Hours - $250
6 Hours - $200
4 Hours - $150

I have almost an identical boat, minus the talon, it's a Triton 176 Sport with a 115 Johnson Jet. Haven't had it in the river yet, just got it this year. I might get some guys together and come down and check out the fishing down there. Good to know a fellow MCB'r is a guide down in PA.

What stretch of the river are you planning on fishing regularly?

If you've never had a jet boat before your going to be amazed at the shallow water you'll be able to run. The talon can be helpful sometimes, but I think having a 36volt trolling motor is a better buy if you need to choose between the two. Although it is great to hold on a spot in fast current with the press of a button.

I will probably get in the Susky around Binghamton and vestal area but I mostly get in the lakes around me. I like the piece of mind of the jet because I fish shallow water 99% of the time, and one of the main places I go, Stillwater Resevoir, has a lot of dangerous places yiu can take out a lower end on a motor. I really like my 36v iPilot, I plan on getting 2 Power Pole Micros next year.

Here is a shot a friend got of me last week landing q smallie at Stillwater.

Yes all tackle provided. I typically rig up 10 or so rods with lures I feel will work on that specific day. So it's basically buy a license and show up at the launch, no hassles just fishing.

As far as 30 fish plus days and the best time to be out there, I have to say late September through October. The water temp drops really make them start feeding for the winter. You get quality and quantity in the fall. In the summer it's really more quantity. I can drift the whole River and catch em all over but a lot of small fish will be caught. 10" to 12", still fun but fall is when you want to be out there.

Personally I love fishing in November and December, numbers drop off but you get the real pigs when the water is under 50 degrees.

I have relatives in endicott. One day I'll get out up that way. I was gonna pull the trigger on a 112 terrova but I'd like to play with the ipilot myself. Heard amazing things about the ipilot motors.

I pretty much fish the river 99% of the time, used to fish all the local lakes but I've been spoilt by the fishing in the susky. You have a nice rig for sure, try to find some spots in the river, I bet you'll find that's the best bet for quality fishing time.

If your on facebook, send me a friend request. Search Ryan Alunni and you should find me. You can see most of my exploits on the river documented there. Also, if its just me and you fishing and I am fishing during the trip I will do the 8 hour for $200.
