Phantom Reg.

Im interested in getting a Phantom, and I'd like to run it on a 13/30 tank. What reg would MCB suggest? also, what PSI should I run it at?

Thanks

You don't really need a reg, but if I know MCB, a PPS Stabilizer is the #1 regulator!

reg is overkill and extra weight. i used both my ninja 13 ci tank and a myth 48/3000 tank on my phantom with just running it straight from the bottom line to the vertical asa. no need for the extra reg it will be consistent enough. beauty of the phantom is how light it is.

You don't need a reg. If you like having the handle there. I always thought that air-through grips looked nice with an agd bike grip on there.

The man is asking for a reg, buddies, not for "is a reg usefull or not?" !

I personnaly have a Bob Long, but you could also use a CP or any Cocker reg (assuming each cocker reg are the same). A stock phantom will allow you to come down to about 600 psi, if you mod the internals to go even lower you'll be stuck at about 400-450 psi.

By the way for people's knowledge, IT IS pretty usefull to reg a phantom when it comes to tournament, whereas it is totally useless at recball.

Why would it be useful for tournaments but not recball ? Assuming the reg does something, then why wouldn't that benefit be just as useful for recball as a tournament ? My experience is that when running HPA on a Phantom, adding an inline regulator makes no difference whatsoever. On CO2 it can help, but even then it's not an amazing difference. The biggest advantage is not changing the velocity when the weather change is dramatic throughout the day. Which isn't an issue on HPA.

I personally use CP regs and have never had problems with them. They have rebuild kits available as well. Just make sure to get the short if you want a 90 degree fitting, else you have to turn the long version to fit a 90 degree fitting.

turn meaning to cut the body on a lathe

yeah dont see the reasoning behind rec vs tourny? shooting paintballs is shooting paintballs. you dont need different consistency to shoot a rec player over a tourny player. there will always be that drive for more consistency. there will be 20 different reg recommendations and it will ultimately come down to how much you want to spend and what is available to you. if all you are doing is hunting for a reg to run co2 or compressed air then there have been several people on here with good results from CP, DYE Hypers, Evil Detonators, Palmers Stabilizers, and so on.
