blazer rock venting?

I'm new to blazers, but been around for awhile.
My new to me 1k blazer is venting from the rock overpressure relief valve when I air it up. I can back out the adjustment then screw it back in and the marker cycles (kind of)
My airsource is a 850psi output nitroduck 68/3000 which goes through a male palmer stab set at 550psi then into the marker asa. My airsource works fine with my B2k or my Automag.

I'm assuming that the rock needs a rebuild. Correct?

If it does, I'm considering sending the marker to Palmer and letting them go through it and replace the o-rings on the entire marker.
How much does that usually run?
Comments are appreciated. Thanks

Brewtt,

yes, I have their phone number.

Every minute I spend on the phone with one of their techs over a marker is a minute they do not spend building someone elses marker. That is why I ask questions here instead of bugging them on the phone.

Other than posting pictures of new bling, why have a forum for Palmer Pursuits if it's not to ask other people's opinions about tech, procedure, or pricing.

Basically, your leaky rock is going to require one of two things;

Either the O ring on your plunger is gone (a relatively simple fix given the right O ring) or your rock needs a rebuild.

I have no idea what they charge for a rock rebuild but call the shop and ask. Lori or even Amanda will tell you the price and no gun assembly will be interrupted. Certainly they would also be the one's to talk to about ordering a new plunger O ring if you don't have something else that will work.

Good luck,
D.

Edit: Here is a link to the "exploded Blazer" the O ring you need to check is the Plunger Oring (#5 on the diagram).

thanks drum,
gave them a call and talked to Lori. Very pleasent. Decided to send it in for a factory rebuild instead of nickel and diming the checkbook with problems created by prior owners.

Cool

Agreed. I sent 2 guns to them and got a call from Lori. As you said she was very cool to chit chat with and helpful

I had similar issues, and a factory rebuild includes a Stabilizer seal kit if the gun has one.

My Blazer is old, I got it used and I was trying the home repair, nickel and dime thing.

I should have sent it to them long ago. Looking forward to playing with it in actual working condition for once.

(BTW, I believe a Blazer factory rebuild is $125. Not cheap, but they essentially replace every seal in the gun and regs. I feel it is a fair price when you consider I sent my 1st Cocker to ANS and paid $50 for a really bad ball detente. hehe)
